ObjectivesThe Australian Dental Students Association is an organisation that:Networks and increases camaraderie among dental studentsFacilitates communication between dental student societiesAdvances the rights, interests and welfare of dental studentsPromotes involvement in organised dentistry and provides services, information and education for professional developmentIdentifies and promotes changes in dental education, registration and other policy by liaising with relevant organisations involved in these areasIncreases public standing of dental students among external individuals and organisationsOrganises Australian Dental Students ConventionsADSA will also be releasing a bi-annual publication and is available for advice and support to any dental student or dental student body in Australia.A copy of our constitution detailing our objectives and mode of operation is available below.

Structure
Committee and StructureCommittee members are derived from each of the representing schools and their student societies to provide input and representation of students in their respective schools. The Committee always strive to obtain balance and understanding and cater for students from all participating universities.The ADSA committee comprises two main bodies: the executive committee and the general committee. The executive body is responsible for leadership, liaison with fellow dental organisations and other health student organisations as well as the evolution and continuation of the committee. The executive body consists of four members: the president, secretary, treasurer and the immediate past president.The general committee consists of an Advocacy Officer, Sponsorship Officer, Rural Officer, Media Officer, Publications Officer and Website Officer as well as a liaison officer from each university. Liaison officers provide a direct route of communication with each dental school and represent their interests. In this way, ADSA may readily impart information of its events and endeavours to students. Future Leaders WantedADSA requires strong leadership for the future. If you have an interest in your fellow dental students and would like to approach issues from a national level, then tell us your interest by emailing your name and position you would like to nominate yourself for to executive_adsa.org.au.
Election
ElectionCommittee elections will be held at the Annual General Meeting which will take place during the Australian Dental Students Convention each year. The committee encourages and is open to membership from new dental schools in Australia. We welcome the students of these schools, and believe that membership in the ADSA and participation in the student convention will foster positive relationships between students throughout Australia, forming a firm base upon which ADSA can evolve!Send in your nomination to executive_adsa.org.au and be part of the ADSA family!
